This season is our 30th birthday!!!!
We had 13 enter for this meeting and 12 starters due to Johnno’s engine not being ready and unfortunately the weather wasn’t very kind to us either. Qualifying - very wet for all the entrants and the best time went to Maurie, then Tuff who came in 2 seconds back. The track was very slippery and even though most made it gingerly around some still managed to find an excursion off the track at some point.
Race 1 - the weather gods came to our rescue and blew the rain & clouds away and the track dried up nicely due to Maurie’s dismay! This enabled the V8’s to shine through and the “blanket” came out again with it being able to be thrown over Tuff, Wayne P (back +0.76s), Scorch (back +1.00s) & Jason (who had a minor sightseeing trip off the track).
Race 2 - saw Roy on pole and Tony on 2, but this didn’t last long when Scorch, Tuff, Jason & Wayne P came storming through to finish in that order. Tony blew a gearbox and Craig didn’t finish.
Race 3 - Roy loved me with this one as he and Cliff started back 25 seconds and finished 1st and 2nd consecutively. Not too far off these two came Jason, Tuff, Wayne P and Scorch who all started 40 seconds back from the first starters.
A good battle is ensuing between Maurie and Bob with each of them coming in front of each other in both race 1 and 2 and now Maurie only has a slim lead over Bob in C Class. Craig is having a few teething problems with his motor and is not very happy as he didn’t manage to finish any of the races. Cliff raced really well considering it’s his first time at Teretonga in the mighty Nova and last, but not least Ben & Ray are our silent battlers that go out and have a great time.
